I really don’t think my family and friends can understand what is going on with my health. I feel like I haven’t explained things well enough, but another part of me says that they do understand but just wont talk about it. I have to try and not mention it as I feel like my Husband has lost interest, and thinks I am going through a crisis because my results are due soon. My parents seem to look away when I start discussing it, I think that not only do they not understand but that they are in denial. I am an only child so they have always been a bit overprotective of me, but I love them both to bits. Not having any Brothers or Sisters could be a problem if I require a transplant of that kind, usually they use the patients own bone marrow for the first transplant if I need one. I do feel totally obsessed with my MGUS at the moment, but I can’t help it, it is so very stressful waiting a month to find out if you have an incurable cancer or not.

My problems started 3 days before Feb. 28th, with severe case of the flu. In fact, Feb. 28th was my 27th anniversary! Ended up with blood clots in leg and both lungs, and went in hospital. Testing afterwards to see why, and now they are testing to rule out Multiple Myeloma. I’m praying it’s MGUS, but I have protein in urine, and my IgM and IG are very low. I have fatigue, arm pain, kidneys hurt. Waiting on bone marrow biopsy and full body xray results on May 21st. I know what you mean- no one wants me to talk about it and it’s upseting. It’s not that they don’t care- I think they are scared and don’t know what to say. But, I know just what you mean!!!
